JLW Vijayawada had arranged a 3 day Trade fair (exhibition cum sale) on 13th, 14th and 15th of July 2018 of clothes, footwear, bed sheets, bags, jewellery, handmade soaps, exotic plants, pots, food etc., spread over 74 stalls and a food court at Amma Kalyan Mandapam, Vijayawada
Although it was largely intended for the Jain housewives to explore their business interests and potentials, it was not limited to them. There were some local women and a few strong male contenders as well. One of them was a physically challenged young man, who did good business.
Through the exhibition we tried to consolidate our ties with local groups like VLC 52 (women’s wing of Round Table, Vijayawada) and BNI. We donated two stalls to VLC52, which they used to raise funds for their school for underprivileged children.
The women participants were thrilled with this platform and are looking forward to the next trade fair and other exciting and meaningful engagements in the future.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mrs. Anuradha Gadde (Chairperson, Zilla Parishad, Krishna district) and Mr Muttavarpu Murali Krishna (President Natural and Organic farmers Association, AP) in the presence of Mrs Sindhura Nekkanti (Chairperson VLC 52, Vijayawada), Mr Jai Desai (Executive Director, BNI Vijayawada), Mr Girish Jain (Zonal Vice Chairman, TNAP) and Mr Ranjit Jain (Zonal Chief Secretary, TN/AP) amongst other members of the men and youth wings.
